List your nursing archive
Are you an independent or organisational custodian of a nursing archive? We believe in the strength of collaboration. By listing your archive with the National Nursing Archives of Australia, we can create a comprehensive network, making our collective history more accessible and enriched.
Donate Artefacts and Memories
At NNAA we want to preserve the legacy of Australian nursing. We are interested in collecting records and other ephemera that help tell the story of nursing practitioners and the nursing profession as a whole.
While we understand the importance of nursing uniforms as part of the identity of the nursing profession, we are unable to manage uniforms/clothing within our collection.
- Records of individual nursing practitioners, educators and executives (e.g., personal diaries, correspondence, photographs, authored publications, presentations and speeches, research papers, memorabilia, nursing certificate, etc.)
- Legal establishment and regulation of nursing associations and organisations (e.g., constitution, by-laws, statutory reports, etc.)
- Key governance and administrative records of nursing associations (e.g., annual reports, advocacy and submissions, strategic planning, policy, etc.)
- Accreditation schemes for the nursing profession
- Widespread changes to nursing practices
- Nursing education and training programs
- Records of ongoing historical interest (e.g., promotional videos, photographs, advertising, posters, souvenirs, publications, etc.)
- Orphaned hospital collections at risk of loss
